Eva Pau is the Managing Director of Asia Market, Ireland’s largest Asian supermarket, and the host of Eva Pau’s Asian Kitchen on RTÉ One. From childhood days spent playing in the aisles of her parents’ Asian store to becoming one of Ireland’s most recognisable voices in Asian cuisine, Eva Pau has dedicated her life and career to making Asian cooking exciting and approachable for home cooks.

Eva arrived in Ireland at just one month old with her parents, who had spotted a significant gap in the market for Asian products. Her father, who grew up in Guangzhou, China, and her mother, from Hong Kong, opened Asia Market on Drury Street, Dublin 2, in the 1980s. The shop was not just a business; it was Eva’s playground, classroom, and the foundation of everything she knew about Asian food.

After graduating from Trinity College Dublin, Eva moved to Hong Kong to work in finance, where she developed a passion for travel and exploring the diversity of Asian cuisines. But Ireland called her home, and she returned to take on the family business. Under her leadership, Asia Market has grown from that small Dublin shop into a thriving business dedicated to making authentic Asian ingredients accessible to Irish audiences.

Eva’s work extends beyond the kitchen and the supermarket. She is a passionate advocate for cultural integration and business innovation. In 2022, she was honoured with the IMAGE Overall Businesswoman of the Year award, followed by the Trinity Alumni Award in 2023. She serves on the Advisory Council of the Trinity Centre for Asian Studies and is a board member of Dublin Town. Eva is also an active member of the organising committee for the Dublin Lunar New Year Festival, held annually in collaboration with Dublin City Council and Dublin Town.

Whether she’s on screen, in the shop, or working behind the scenes to promote Irish-Asian cultural exchange, Eva’s mission remains the same: to share her love of Asian food and prove that with the right ingredients and a little guidance, anyone can create delicious, authentic dishes at home. Her debut Asian cookbook launches in mid-October 2026.
