Rívesci are multi-award-winning condiment makers based in Clonmel, Co.Tipperary. Co-Founders Shannon Forrest and Chef Declan Malone first started their business as a food truck and it was here where customer demand for their own unique sauces that accompanied their dishes grew and sparked the pivot for their business.
The husband and wife team have also set up a neighbourhood coffee shop at their production site in the heart of Irishtown, Clonmel. Establishing themselves here has enabled them to grow their team, range of condiments and stockists across Ireland and beyond.
They have won multiple Great Taste awards from the Guild of Fine Food UK and were announced as Supreme Champions for their Smoked Chilli Oil at Blas na hEireann 2024, where they also won Gold, Best in Tipperary and Best in Munster. McKenna’s Guides have also awarded Rívesci ‘Best in Ireland’ every year since 2020 and they were also crowned ‘Innovator of the Year’ 2023 and ‘Local Food Hero’ for Tipperary at the 2025 Irish Restaurant Awards.
Did you know – ‘Rívesci’ is a play on words whilst also paying homage to Shannon and Declan’s roots. ‘Rí’ is the Irish word for King, and Shannon’s first home in Clonmel was at King Street Flats. ‘Vesci’ is the Latin word for food, and also acknowledges Declan’s hometown of Abbeyleix, Co.Laois as the ‘de Vesci’ family founded Abbeyleix many moons ago. Rívesci can also be recognised as ‘King of Food’, in Shannon and Declan’s eyes anyway!
